1 Corinthians 13:13
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13 reminds us of three foundational virtues—faith, hope, and love—but emphasizes that love is the greatest. Why? Because love is the essence of God Himself (1 John 4:8). Faith and hope are essential, but love is what truly reflects Christ in our daily lives.
Living Out Faith, Hope, and Love
- Faith anchors us in God’s promises (Hebrews 11:1). It is trust in what we cannot see, keeping us steady through life’s storms.
- Hope gives us endurance (Romans 15:13). It reminds us that no matter how dark things seem, God has a future for us.
- Love is the action that flows from faith and hope. It’s how we display God’s character to the world (John 13:34-35).
3 Ways to Walk in Faith, Hope, and Love
- Spend time in God’s Word and in prayer (Romans 10:17). Faith grows when we stay connected to the Source.
- When life feels overwhelming, fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). Speak God’s promises over your situation.
- Love isn’t just a feeling; it’s a choice. Be patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
Today, ask God to help you grow in faith, hold on to hope, and most of all—love like Jesus.
